Feng-Shui is an ancient Chinese study of movement of energy. This energy moves in patterns affecting every aspect of our lives - physical, emotional and spiritual.

Feng-Shui helps us understand that our homes mirror ourselves. Any change in its arrangement reflects in our life - in terms of wealth, health, opportunities and relationships.

Feng-Shui facilitates the arrangement of space so that the universal energy - called ‘chi’ flows harmoniously. Modern life is fast-paced, stressed and unnatural. Our vital energies are drained constantly and consistently. We need to replenish this by using this ancient art to support our goals and ourselves.

Feng-Shui remedies: the ready reckoner

Clutter

The first and most important way to change you

life is to assess things that surround you. How much of it is essential? How much is just stuff-picked-up or handed down to you over the years? Many of us surround ourselves with unfinished jobs or old objects that serve no real purpose.

Every object that you surround yourself with has energy. If you permit disorder into the space around you, it will reflect in your life. Clutter will drain your energy. Clearing out will free you and your house off stagnant energy. Allow some room for fresh energies to enter - new opportunities will follow!

Plants and Animals

Living things increase the energy in your house tremendously. They also allow nature to become part of your life. Plants, especially tall ones can be placed .Do not use spiky plants - use spider plants to absorb negative radiation.

Mirrors and Bright Objects

Any reflective surface help increase chi in the area in which they are placed. They magnify the light energy within that space.

Crystals can be very effective when placed in a window as they can activate healthy energy where there are negative spaces. Glass and bright, enamelled surfaces may also be used.

Sound and Wind Chimes

Sound may also be used to activate healthy energies. Make sure that you are not surrounded by incessant noise - a pump, airplanes overhead or a noisy refrigerator. These can drain energy.

Soothing sound can be used effectively to uplift energy in an area. Wind chimes and musical instruments should be placed to control the flow of chi - at doorways or at openings.
